| MATERIALS:
Here is a list of some of the things you will need during the construction
of your Faso cooler.
01) high temperature blow torch
02) high temperature solder or brazing rod
03) high temperature solder flux
04) wire cutters
05) pliers
06) a refrigeration compressor
07) a condenser (can be fabricated)
08) capillary tube
09) 20-40' of 1/4" OD copper tube (used for evaporator and condenser
if it needs to be fabricated)
10) shrader access valves (at least 2 possibly 5)
11) 1/4" copper sleeves OR 1-2" of 3/8" copper tube
12 )REFRIGERANTS R-134A, R290 are common use because they dont
require you to be licensed to get them
13) refrigerant oil: ester oil is bottled with R134A and would be what
is used with any R134A compressor, mineral oil is what is used with
14) all other refrigerants.
15) you will need something to get the refrigerant into the system here
are a few options:
01: a set of standard refrigeration gauges or automotive set with
adapters
02: an automotive R134A fill hose with adapter
03: standard fill hose from a self ac test kit
16) water pump
17) high speed fan
18) water tubing of some sort vinyl, silicon, tygon are some typical
types
19) a water block these can be fabricated relatively cheep or purchased
online for $15-100
20) insulation for you water block and tubing. Neoprene sheets are typically
used on water blocks and standard Polly based pluming insulation
on the tubing is typical and you will also need to insulate your reservoir
for best temperature.
